Exciting New Entertainment for Holland America Line

Holland America Line have announced that they will be changing their approach to onboard entertainment, bringing more intimacy to evening shows onboard their ships.

The new approach focuses on bringing in top performers, including stars from American Idol and singers from Broadway. The cruise line is hoping that the quality of the onboard entertainment will provide guests with an experience which they will never forget.

There will be several big production shows onboard the new ship – Nieuw. There is a musical called “N.Y.C”, a ballroom dance, a ladies night, and even a garage band for all those rockers out there. Although these shows will at first be restricted to cruises aboard the Nieuw, it is expected that they will be rolled out across the fleet by late 2010.

Holland America Line have long been known for providing excellent entertainment onboard their ships, with over 200 performers putting on over 90 shows across their fleet. As well as resident shows and performances, there are also comedians, magicians and one off musical performances to enjoy while you are cruising.

On many of the ships, live performances take place in the Showroom at Sea which is in the theme of a nightclub. It has a completely new, redesigned main stage, a new seating arrangement and a huge dance floor so that guests can join in. The high tech surround sound and video projections ensure that all performances in the Showroom at Sea are breathtaking and memorable.
