Dubai Cruise Terminal Set to Grow

0

It has been announced today that the cruise terminal in Dubai is to be extended, making it even bigger and better than before. It is expected that the planned expansion will result in a terminal which can accommodate up to five cruise liners at any one time. The expansion should be completed by the end of 2012, so if you have a cruise booked which stops at Dubai around that time, you are in luck!

At present, only two cruise vessels can dock at any one time – a total of around 7,000 passengers. As the cruise industry continues to grow, it should come as no surprise that Dubai wants a piece of the action. For many, Dubai is the perfect place to visit on a ship as a lot of people enjoy visiting for a day or two rather than spending a full week there.
The expansion is just the first step in a series of plans to create a range of new retail and leisure outlets and facilities for tourists. It is a long term goal of Dubai’s to stimulate growth in the tourism sector and in these tough economic times, anything which might bring more tourism to the country has to be a positive thing.

If you are interested in taking a cruise from Dubai, there are some great deals from cruise lines such as Royal Caribbean for 2012 sailings at the minute. It’s a great region to explore and if you like what you see, you can always go back for a longer stay the following year! Call our sales team now on 0808 2746 777.
