Thomson Cruises Rebrands as Marella Cruises

From this month, there’ll be a new name on the seas, as the UK’s third largest cruise line, Thomson Cruises, rebrands under the moniker, Marella Cruises. It’s part of Thomson’s huge brand overhaul, with the company changing its UK operation’s name to TUI, to match the rest of the group.

Marella (which means ‘shining sea’ in Celtic) represents a new chapter for the cruise line, with all the ships in the fleet receiving a new name in line with the branding. Soon, guests will be enjoying the best of ocean exploration on board Marella Dream, Marella Celebration, Marella Discovery, Marella Discovery 2 and Marella Explorer (due to join the fleet next year).

The line is celebrating this rebrand by offering an array of exotic itineraries for the 2018/19 season, visiting amazing destinations across Asia and the Middle East – providing unique experiences and incredible opportunities. Making sure guests get the most with the new Marella Cruises brand, many itineraries will no embark at night – guaranteeing less time at sea and more time in amazing destinations around the world.

Thanks to the position within the large TUI group, Marella Cruises can also offer guests the chance to connect from 22 regional airports across the UK. Furthermore, guests can take advantage of the Cruise & Stay programme which includes hotel stays at 140 locations across the globe, including the ultra-luxurious TUI Sensatori collection.

But it’s not all new, Thomson Cruises’ renowned on-board service and attentive crew will still be on hand to meet every guest requirement and whim.

Helen Caron, Distribution and Cruise Director said: “This is an incredibly exciting time for our business. We’re really proud to offer an experience that guests can, and want to, come back to again and again and moving forward as Marella we’ve got brand new, modern additions to our fleet and more destinations, choice and experiences than ever before which really reflects our spirit of exploration and discovery within the new brand.”

Perhaps the highlight of the new itineraries is Marella Discovery’s Colours of the Far East voyage – setting sail from beautiful Langkawi in Malaysia.

Helen Caron continued: “I’m absolutely delighted to unveil our latest destinations for winter 2018. Asia is an incredibly diverse part of the world and I have no doubt that our customers are going to love their adventures across countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, India and Oman to name a few. These captivating destinations, along with our new ships, famously friendly staff and value for money, make this is the perfect time to look ahead.”

The line is also using this new dawn as an opportunity to increase their presence in the world’s best-loved cruise region – the Caribbean. For the first time ever, the line will boast two ships based in Barbados, the Marella Explorer and the Marella Celebration.
