Princess Announce Name of New Ship

Princess Cruises have announced that their new ship will be named “Royal Princess”. Along with this big announcement, several smaller titbits of information have also been released which will no doubt excite Princess Cruise fans all over the globe.

The most interesting fact to be released is about the ship’s innovative “SkyWalk”. There will be a glass enclosed walkway, with a glass floor on board the ship, which extends over the water at a very scary, 128 feet high. Anybody with a fear of heights would be well advised to avoid that one but for those without such a phobia, it will no doubt be a fantastic experience.

Other features of the new ship include an adults only swimming pool and two more pools which will transform into a nightclub later on in the evening, giving a light show every night.

As usual on Princess cruises, there will be the opportunity to watch a “movie under the stars”, a firm favourite for many cruise lovers. The screen onboard the Royal Princess will be the largest of any Princess ship and in high-def so you are bound to get a great view wherever you’re sitting.

Princess also announced that all of the outside cabins will have balconies on the Royal Princess, which equates to around 80% of the rooms on the ship. This is a very significant step for the cruise line, completely abolishing the outside cabin grade.

The ship is due to be ready in Spring of 2013 and with these exciting announcements, we’re all looking forward to getting a glimpse of the Royal Princess.
