P&O are taking cruising to the Edge with Hollywood stunt actress

Hollywood’s most sought after stunt actress has launched ‘The Edge’ – “the most comprehensive adventure program ever to hit the high seas”.

Janene Carleton launched the P&OEdge program onboard Pacific Jewel late last month. Janene has performed dangerous, daring and impressive stunts in a number of Hollywood films for the likes of Angelina Jolie, Jessica Biel and Paula Patton. She brought her eight years of experience as a stunt double to Pacific Jewel, and helped to showcase the new range of adrenaline-inducing activities now available on the ship during the program’s launch.

What is P&OEdge?

The P&OEdge program allows passengers to explore the ship in a way that has never happened before – by swinging, racing, climbing and jumping across the ship.  P&O are now describing Pacific Jewel as the “largest floating adventure playground in the world.”

Among the high octane activities is a fun new ‘silver screen’ experience too: named the “Titanic Moment”. Passengers can recreate the classic pose on the bow of the ship from the movie of the same name.

Speaking ahead of the event, Janene Carleton said,

“My job as a stunt actress means I’m constantly pushing myself to the limit. I love new challenges – so to have the opportunity to bring some of these skills to test out the new P&OEdge program is hugely exciting for me.”

Speaking about P&OEdge, Ann Sherry, the Head of P&O Cruises also commented, adding:

“We’re proud to offer passengers the most comprehensive range of onboard adventure activities ever seen in the cruising world. Whilst other cruise lines offer passengers a limited selection of activities, P&OEdge is the first to roll out a fully integrated program – something we’re confident our passengers will love. We’re even hoping Angelina may swing by to test out the new activities with her kids while she’s in Sydney!”

About P&OEdge:

The P&OEdge program has been carefully constructed to ensure there is something for everyone, and that all passengers can enjoy the activities on offer. Budding stunt doubles can test their skills in the kids actives section, whilst mum and dad can choose from a range of breathtaking and exhilarating activities. These include high rope swings, laser tag, slack lines, Segway obstacle courses, flying fox lines, funnel climbs and more!

John Sharpe of Pacific Adventures was responsible for devising the exciting new program of P&OEdge activities. Speaking ahead of last month’s launch, he said:

“We’ve been creating adventure tours for intrepid travellers for years but bringing these activities on board a ship takes things to a whole new level.”

He continued:

“We’ve devised the activities to fit in with the existing features of the ship which adds a dynamic fourth dimension to the challenges. Not only can you complete a rock climb up the funnel, you’ll also be working with the sway of the ship as it passes through the sea, meaning no two experiences will ever feel the same.”

P&OEdge is currently only available onboard Pacific Jewel cruises. The full program will be rolled out across the fleet in 2014.
