The Oasis Class Sisters Meet for the First Time

0

The three sisters of Royal Caribbean’s Oasis Class met for the first time ever at the end of last week, in Florida’s massive Fort Lauderdale terminal, Port Everglades. The three largest cruise ships in the world, Oasis of the Seas, Allure of the Seas and Harmony of the Seas, congregated to welcome the latter to her new Floridian home.

The youngest of the three ships, Harmony of the Seas, had spent her first summer in operation completing cruise sailings out of her temporary home in Barcelona – but has made the switch across the Atlantic in recent weeks. From here she’ll conduct sailings around the islands of the Caribbean, just like her older sisters.

Boasting a combined maximum capacity of more than 19,000 passengers, the three ships will introduce unprecedented numbers of guests to the paradise islands dotting the Caribbean Sea. The Harmony of the Seas will prove to be a valuable addition to Royal Caribbean’s Florida-based fleet, offering the largest capacity of any cruise ship in operation alongside a series of incredible features and amenities that even her sisters can’t claim.

Offering a new cruising experience, each of the three ships in the Oasis Class boasts seven distinct on-board neighbourhoods, so the vessels feel more like a floating resort than a floating hotel. At the very heart of these seven neighbourhoods is the amazing Central Park, which boasts almost 12,000 plants and trees.

Built to wow and delight all ages and tastes, each of the Oasis Class ships is home to a series of family-friendly amenities such as surf simulators, sports facilities and amazing entertainment venues. Harmony of the Seas does trump her sisters in one aspect though, she is home to the largest water slide at sea, the 10-deck-high Ultimate Abyss.

It remains to be seen whether the upcoming fourth and fifth ship in the Oasis Class fleet will meet their sisters in similar style, or whether they’ll be added to the Floridian roster to complete Caribbean sailings. The two ships are set to launch in 2018 and 2021 respectively, and work is progressing well on the fourth ship, expected to be built close to the specifications and standards of Harmony of the Seas.
