Norwegian Cruises Lifts Lid on Aqua Park Plans

It’s been an eventful year for Norwegian Cruise Line which scooped up a handful of prestigious industry awards as well as launched a brand new Breakaway Class ship, Norwegian Getaway. In 2015 the line has even bigger plans, including the construction of the largest at-sea aqua park on board the newly commissioned megaliner, Norwegian Escape.

Splash crazy!

Scheduled to set sail in October 2015, the 163,000 tonne vessel will be Norwegian’s largest fleet member. On-board, its 4200 passengers will be able to soak themselves silly at the biggest water park on the planet! The park will feature four thrill inducing water slides that are guaranteed to delight kids and adults alike. Challenge your friends and family to the tandem slides of the Aqua Racer, get your pulse racing on the nail biting side-by-side Free Fall slides and enjoy good old fashioned fun on the family-friendly open-flume body slide. Little ones will love the dedicated Kids’ Aqua Park, adults can unwind in four hot tubs and passengers of all ages are encouraged to cool down in one of the park’s two pools.

Decks of entertainment

When you’ve had your fill of poolside action Norwegian Escape offers plenty of other ways to keep yourself amused. Perfect your balancing skills on the world’s largest at-sea rope course, enjoy a round of miniature golf, shoot hoops on a full size basketball court or take it slow with a game of bocce. Norwegian representatives have also confirmed that the ship will offer passengers a nursery specifically for children aged two or younger.

Cruising the Caribbean

The Caribbean is one of the world’s most popular cruise destinations and the Norwegian Escape will be the latest vessel to sail the picturesque region. The ship will be based in Miami and embark on seven day Eastern Caribbean itineraries calling at the USA, the Bahamas and the Virgin Islands. She joins the newly launched Norwegian Getaway which boasts an incredible selection of on-board activities and experiences. An open air promenade connects passengers with the sea, 28 dining venues serve up mouth-watering cuisine, the theatre puts on Tony award winning musicals and a resort style water park ensures there are thrills and splashes for all!

Drew Madsen, President and chief operating officer at Norwegian Cruise Line sees the launch of the new vessels as a fantastic opportunity for passengers to explore the Caribbean throughout the year. “Once again, Norwegian Cruise Line continues to offer a wide variety of exciting cruises for our guests to choose from in 2016 and early 2017. Guests can cruise to the Caribbean year-round while experiencing the incredible innovations on Norwegian’s newest ships, Norwegian Escape and Norwegian Getaway,” he said.
