The ms Koningsdam from Holland America Lines is due to set sail in February 2016 and will firstly sail to the Mediterranean on a seven-day Premiere Voyage before heading on a series of 12-day Premiere Sailings through early May.

Feb 15 2016 will see the 2,650-guest ship arrive at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard in Italy.

The seven-day trip will begin on 20 February 2016, after the ms Koningsdam is repositioned to Civitavecchia in Rome and will head on to Dubrovnik, Croatia; Kerkira (Corfu) and Katakolon (Olympia), Greece; and Napes, Italy.

“Since we announced ms Koningsdam, guests have been anxiously awaiting itinerary details, so we’re pleased to share the spring Mediterranean season,” said Richard Meadows, Holland America Line’s executive vice president of sales, marketing and guest relations. “We have a very loyal following and we anticipate these cruises will fill up quickly, so I recommend booking early.”

Ms Koningsdam will cruise a series of six 12-day Premiere Sailings on two alternating roundtrip itineraries from Civitavecchia once the Premium Voyage is over (from late Feb to early May). The first itinerary will call at Katakolon, Piraeus (Athens), Rhodes and Crete, Greece; Istanbul and Kusadasi, Turkey, as well as Naples in Italy. The other itinerary will visit Naples, Italy; Palermo, Sicily; Cagliari, Sardinia; Gibraltar, British Territory; and Cadiz, Malaga, Cartagena and Barcelona, Spain.

The details are being finalised by Holland America Line for the ship’s summer and autumn 2016 cruises and information will be released over the coming months. Fares on Premier Sailings begin at £699 per person, based on two sharing for the cruise only.
