Five reasons why families love Freedom of the Seas

0

Freedom of the seas is one of Royal Caribbean’s larger passenger ships, homed in Port Canaveral in Florida.

The ship is a firm favourite for families across UK, due to the amazing activities and entertainment options onboard, which are designed specifically for children of all ages.

This article looks at our top five family friendly features onboard Freedom of the Seas and discusses why mums, dads and kids love holidaying on this ship!

1) FlowRider:

FlowRider allows passengers to SURF onboard the ship, on the sloped wavelike surface.  Even if you or your offspring have never been surfing before, it’ll be OK as the FlowRider is suitable for all levels of skill.  Of couse, this is better suited to older kids and teens (and parents of course), as there are hight restrictions for this fun activity.

2) Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Scoop Shop:

A must for all holidaymakers onboard Freedom!  Friendly staff members will scoop you a cone of scrumptious Ben & Jerrys to enjoy as you walk around the ship on a sunny day at sea.

Children will go mad for the various concoctions available!  In addition to the traditional tubs and cones of ice-cream, there are tasty sundaes, shakes and smoothies available to enjoy too.  Yum yum!

2) Adventure Ocean:

Adventure Ocean is Freedom of the Seas’ youth programme, packed full of laughter and designed to produce some incredible, unforgettable and educational experiences for your kids!  There are various activities available throughout the day, pitched at a variety of different age groups.  3-5 year olds can explore science and conduct fun experiences on the Aquanauts programme, as 6-8 year olds become Explorers and learn cool things, like how to make gummy sweets.  Older children (9-11) become Voyagers and explore a range of cool and fun activites, still geared around learning.

4) DreamWorks:

Freedom of the Seas is one of several Royal Caribbean ships featuring the DreamWorks experience.

Imagine seeing your child’s face light up as they meet some of their favourite characters, including Shrek, Fiona or Po from Kung Fu Panda, as the colourful characters parade around on deck.  Your son or daughter’s favourite character could even join you one evening at the dinner table!  (And we’re sure Shrek would be up to the job of convincing your child to eat their veggies!)

Freedom of the Seas also has a giant 3D cinema so you can experience those fab DreamWorks films up close and personal too.  Alternatively, if you want a little quiet time away from the hustle and bustle on deck, the films can also be enjoyed in your stateroom.

5) Babysitting and Nursery Servies:

This is a perk for parents technically, but that doesn’t mean children won’t love their time while you’re away enjoying a show or sipping a cocktail in a bar.  Group care is available in the onboard nursery, where kids can go to enjoy the fabulous Fisher-Price and Crayola playgrounds.  For a nominal fee, you could hire a Royal Caribbean Babysitter to look after your child/children individually, in your stateroom.  Perfect if you’d like to enjoy a quiet evening “out”.
