A little taste of winter sun is the ultimate indulgence and the Caribbean has some of the best ingredients for the perfect paradise escape. Endless sandy white shores, lush green tropical jungles and an ocean that is almost bluer than the cloudless sky above, make the Caribbean islands a perfect cruising destination.

We’re delighted to be able to offer you an amazing deal on cabins aboard the MSC Armonia, heading out to these paradise islands as part of a Cuban Adventure cruise. Stopping at destinations across Malta, Spain, Portugal, and several Caribbean islands, there is no better way to soak up some winter sun.

If lounging on a sundeck, drink in hand, drifting between vibrant cities and sandy beaches appeals to you, then this is your perfect cruise. For as little as £1,699 for a whopping 22 nights, you can enjoy the wonderful combination of indulgent relaxation and vibrant activity that makes the Caribbean so special. Whether you want to discover historic landmarks, sample beautiful food, or simply alternate between swimming in the sea and lying on the sand, this amazing deal is for you.

Malta

Malta’s capital city, Valletta, is the first stop on the itinerary and this fascinating port has a lot to offer. Home to the famous Grand Harbour, which has historical significance as a centre of action in both the 1565 Grand Siege and the WWII, Valletta is steeped in history. Take a trip to the Lascaris War Rooms and discover the city’s integral role in the WWII as the secret headquarters of the British and Allied Mediterranean forces. Many of the operations rooms are complete with the maps, plotting tables and elaborate communications systems that were used at the time.

The palace which was once the home of the Grand Master of the Order of St John is also well worth a visit. This luxurious building, adorned with works of art, is still the centre of power in Valletta, so make sure the State Rooms aren’t closed for official business before you visit. Valletta is a city with a wealth of cultural highlights showcasing the nation’s heritage from the splendid Cathedral to the riveting archaeology museum.

Spain

Visiting three ports along the Spanish coast, the cruise gives you a taste of the very best of the country. First stop is Barcelona, Spain’s thriving capital city and a wealth of cultural delights just waiting to be explored. With its soaring Gothic architecture and much-loved tapas bars, there is so much to love about Barcelona. Many of the museums are free on Sunday afternoons, so there is no excuse for not exploring the city’s fascinating history. Or else, just wander in awe around the Gothic Quarter, with its medieval alleyways and delightful café bars.

Valencia is the next stop, and this stunning coastal city will steal your heart, offering a taste of its vibrant Mediterranean energy. With white beaches as far as the eye can see, bustling markets, delicious restaurants and a lively nightlife, Valencia offers many of the best aspects of a trip to the Mediterranean. Visit the beautiful Cathedral, mixing Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque features, and home to the Vatican-recognised Holy Grail. The city has several Michelin-starred restaurants that showcase local produce beautifully, so there is no excuse not to eat well in Valencia. From the stunning displays of fresh produce at Central Market to the 15th-century silk exchange that stands opposite, there’s plenty to explore during your trip.

Malaga is the final stop of the Spanish leg of the cruise and it has plenty to explore. The capital of the Costa del Sol, with heaps of Andalusian charm, it is home to a fascinating complex of historic buildings. The Gibralfaro Castle’s 14th-century walls offer a stunning view of the city’s skyline and you can walk along them to the gardens and fountains of Alcazaba. Open air performances also run for free in the Roman Theatre, showcasing the huge range of cultural influences on Malaga. Pablo Picasso was born here and the museum dedicated to him is well worth a visit, being home to more than 200 of his paintings. Malaga’s sweet wine is also a must-sample, with many of the atmospheric wine bars of the city offering fine examples in beautiful surroundings.

Funchal

Madeira’s capital, Funchal, is compact enough to see in a day, making it the perfect place to stop off on your luxurious cruise. The architecture is beautiful, so consider walking so as not to miss the fabulous buildings and spectacular street art that can be seen throughout the city. Head to the old town for a taste of life in Funchal, the colourful market stalls sell fresh fruit and fish and you’re more likely to see the locals doing their shopping than tourists buying trinkets. Don’t leave without experiencing the thrilling toboggan rides from the foot of the Church of Our Lady, they were used by the rich inhabitants in the 19th century and are still used today to transport tourists.

Caribbean

You might be tempted to never leave the sundeck of the cruise ship when you reach the Caribbean’s sun-soaked shores, but it is well worth venturing out to explore these beautiful islands. White sand, lush tropical rainforests and vibrant blue water don’t get much more idyllic than they are in the Caribbean.

Stopping at various ports around the islands, you’ll have plenty of time to indulge in the wonderful experiences on offer. Try amazing Caribbean food, which differs from place to place depending on the cultural influences of each island’s indigenous people, as well as foreign settlers. Be sure to take a dip in the stunningly clear ocean, or hire some snorkelling equipment to discover the amazing marine life that is just below the surface all around the islands.

The secret of the Caribbean is to enjoy the iconic relaxed atmospheres of the islands, dance a little, drink a little rum, and spend plenty of time stretched out on those stunning white beaches.
