The magic of Walt Disney is coming back to the UK!
The Disney Magic cruise liner will return after a four-year hiatus to British shores next summer. The ship, which has been recently refurbished, will offer a Mediterranean option this summer, beginning with trips to Norway.
From next year, departures from Dover will be available and will comprise of two separate 12-night cruises in July. They will head to Baltic ports and encompass a variety of European cities, including Stockholm, Copenhagen and St Petersburg.
Tickets went on sale last week and tickets for staterooms – lavishly-equipped family suites – range between £3,738.86 and a whopping £19,257.24. The prices depend on the size of the room, the view offered (ocean or interior) and other added luxuries. The most expensive staterooms come with verandas and concierges.
Steamboat Willie Enters the Age of Luxury Liners
The ship itself has an incredible 11 decks, almost 1,000 feet in length, and can house up to 2,700 passengers and 950 crew members. The interior design of the ship was intended to recall the era when ocean liners represented the crème de la crème of architecture. As such, guests will be greeted by an awe-inspiring three-storey lobby, designed to be reminiscent of an underwater garden. Such luxury is replicated throughout the ship with specially-commissioned paintings, sculptures and trim.
Aboard the ship, there is shortage of entertainment and amenities for all passengers, both young and old. As well as the traditional “character experiences”, where kids can meet Mickey, Goofy and all of their other favourite Disney characters, there are a plethora of other great opportunities.
There are youth clubs, theatre offerings, 3D-film showings and organised deck parties for the kids, as well as several children-orientated swimming pools. For the adults, there are more relaxed pools (and some high-octane ones as well!) and nightclubs and lounges to while away the wee hours when the kids are tucked up in bed.
Other Tempting Routes Around the Aquatic World
In addition to the return to Britain, there are also several other European cruise routes planned. One trip takes in the breathtaking Norwegian fjords, which Disney cites as the inspiration for the recent classic and Oscar-winner, Frozen.
Another 11-night run leaves from Copenhagen and passes by the Faroe Islands and Iceland, while yet another encompasses a Mediterranean route, terminating in Barcelona.
Outside of Europe, the company plan to offer Alaskan runs from Vancouver and voyages through the Bahamas and the Caribbean departing from Port Canaveral and Miami, respectively.
