Royal Caribbean’s Unlimited Alcohol Package
If you plan on spending your holiday indulging in your favourite tipple more often than not, an unlimited alcohol package is a fantastic way to save some cash. Royal Caribbean used to have several alcohol packages, but recently they’ve narrowed it down to a single one, which certainly helps to make your decision that little bit easier.
Package name | Price per person/per day | Includes |
Deluxe Beverage Package | $55 | All beverages worth up to US$12, including selected cocktails, spirits, liquors, wines, beer, soda, bottled water, freshly squeezed juices, mocktails, premium coffee and premium tea.
Additionally, you’ll get a 40% discount on bottles of wine under $100 and 20% off bottles over $100. |
Unlimited Beverage Packages
If you’re more of a mocktail kind of cruiser or simply don’t drink alcohols an unlimited beverage package is still a terrific option. Royal Caribbean currently offer the following non-alcoholic drinks packages:
Package name | Price per person/per day | Includes |
Classic Soda Package | $10 | Unlimited fountain soda refills and a free Coca-Cola souvenir cup. |
Refreshment Package | $30 | Premium coffees and teas, bottled water, freshly squeezed juices, non-alcoholic cocktails, plus fountain soda with a free Coca-Cola souvenir cup. |
Café Select Coffee Card | $36 | 15 specialty espresso-based coffees, premium tea and hot chocolate. |
A few last-minute tips…
While the mention of all-inclusive can be tempting, it’s important to determine whether or not you’ll be able to drink your money’s worth. If you only plan on having a drink or two every day, then it will be more cost effective to just pay-as-you-go. On the other hand, those who love to always have a drink in hand will find the packages incredible value! If you don’t mind knowing the bill beforehand and like the convenience, then a drinks package is the way to go.
Perhaps you enjoy your coffee and soft drinks over alcoholic drinks. If you forego a drinks package, then you’ll have to pay each time you want to satisfy your coffee craving or grab an early morning orange juice, so a non-alcoholic drinks package is well worth it in the long term. As for cruises in hot countries, you’ll be thankful for that chilled bottle water when the temperatures are at peak heat.
If you’re tempted by drinks packages but have already set sail, then remember you can purchase them for the remainder of the cruise providing there are at least four days remaining.
Finally, if you’re very particular about the brands you drink, especially ones on the premium side, then consider that drinks packages might not always cover your preferred brand. Be sure to check on the Royal Caribbean website if your brand or drink of choice is included. If they aren’t covered by the package but are available onboard, you’ll only have to pay the difference to enjoy your favoured hooch at the bar, in your room, or when you’re relaxing in the sun.
At the end of the day it all depends on your budget, your cruising style and your estimated daily drink intake.
