Quantum of the Seas is now home to the world’s first Kung Fu Panda-themed restaurant. The Kung Fu Panda Noodle Shop is a family-focussed eatery aboard the ship which promises to ‘Kung Fu’ kick the taste buds.
The new restaurant offers a selection of dim sum and savoury noodle dishes alongside traditional Chinese desserts. Po and other characters from the Kung Fu Panda franchise adorn the décor of the noodle shop. This addition is just part of Royal Caribbean’s relationship with DreamWorks Animation – with a number of ships in the fleet playing host to a range of popular characters from films such as Shrek, the Penguins of Madagascar and How to Train Your Dragon.
John Suley, vice president of food and beverage for Royal Caribbean, enthused: “We’re very excited to continue building on our relationship with DreamWorks Animation and offer our guests new dining experiences on board Quantum of the Seas as she debuts in her new home in China. A creative collaboration amongst our team of chefs to create the menu for our Kung Fu Panda Noodle Shop is another example of how we continue to ensure that our on board options reflect what today’s food-conscious traveller and our Chinese guests expect from their vacation.”
The Quantum of the Seas has just started her first ever season sailing out of China, calling Shanghai home after leaving New York earlier in the year. This implementation of Kung Fu Panda Noodle shop appears to be the simple way to appeal to both the growing Chinese cruise market and young families.
The DreamWorks Experience offer a number of dining options including the chance to enjoy character breakfasts with the stars of the film. The service is currently available aboard Quantum of the Seas, Allure of the Seas, Oasis of the Seas, Freedom of the Seas, Liberty of the Seas, Voyager of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas.
