Gourmet food and exceptional service have always been at the forefront of the Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ offering – providing the finest culinary experiences at sea. The line looks set to continue this proud tradition by transforming its signature restaurant, Compass Rose, into a massive speciality restaurant, which will become the largest of its kind at sea.
The focus is very much on freedom of choice, giving guests the chance to sample an ever-changing menu. Each night will boast more than a dozen different meat, fish and seafood options, complete with a huge selection of side dishes, accompaniments and garnishes. A wide array of starters and pasta dishes will complement this offering, serving up an almost limitless number of combinations to be enjoyed on board.
These items will be found on the left-hand side of the menu, whilst the right-hand side will be home to the nightly specials dreamt up by the restaurant’s executive chef. Guests are even given the freedom to choose how they wish their meal to be prepared with a range of options including grilled, baked, broiled, poached or roasted.
Bernhard Klotz, senior director of culinary, enthused: “The culinary teams on our ships have always been able to cater to our guests’ special culinary desires with advanced notice. The new menu is so encompassing and customizable that guests with special dining requests no longer need to make them in advance, our chefs can prepare whatever their heart’s desire a la minute.”
It’s not just dinner time which has been overhauled aboard the Regent Seven Seas’ fleet, lunchtime has been given a facelift since the launch of the Seven Seas Explore in July. The Explorer is home to three speciality restaurants – Prime 7, Chartreuse and Pacific Rim – and a selection of dishes from the lunchtime menus have found their way to the early afternoon tables of the rest of the fleet.
The new menu has been launched on the Seven Seas Explorer and Seven Seas Navigator. From 9 November, the menu will be available aboard the Seven Seas Voyager, and the Seven Seas Mariner will receive the overhaul on 13 May 2017, when she enters into dry dock.
