Liberty of the Seas arrives in France

A year after opening offices in France, Royal Caribbean’s first ship Liberty of the Seas arrived in the French town of Toulon last month:

“One year after the opening of our office in France, we are very pleased to offer our first departures from French ports”, says Frederic Martinez, CEO of Royal Caribbean France.

Based in the large Toulonnais military harbour, Liberty of the Seas will offer cruises around the Mediterranean.  At around 1,100 ft and with 15 passenger decks, the impressive liner will offer over 4,000 people the opportunity to discover cruising with each trip.

Alongside the Liberty of the Seas, two further ships, The Grandeur of the Seas and the Brilliance of the Seas will depart from Marseille and Havre respectively.

French cruising:

Emphasis has been on attracting the as yet under developed French cruising customer base.  Martinez said:  “we estimate between 8 and 10% market growth in France in 2012.”  The company hope to attract their offerings for French clientele, he said:  “we worked hard to adapt our offer to French customers.  A significant part of our staff speak French. The menus are in French, the French television channels are available. And we worked our wine. “

Liberty of the Seas’ facilities:

As you’d expect from a luxurious liner of this size, facilities onboard are second to none.

From the moment you arrive, it will be an unforgettable experience for the younger members of your family.  The DreamWorks experience programme means that their favourite movie characters are wandering around such as Shrek, Fiona and Po from Kung Fu Panda, and they might even join you for lunch!  Their films are shown on the big 3D screen and simultaneously in staterooms on the TV for those wanting a quiet viewing.

For water babies the H2O ZoneSM actually has ‘hanging’ whirlpools and the FlowRider® – a surf simulator to surf high above the sea as the ship sails along!

Love sports?  The challenge may well be to avoid the ball going overboard in the Sports court, which has full-sized basketball and vollyball areas.

For those seeking something a little more sedate, you can enjoy a round of crazy golf, shopping or a simple wander along the Royal Promenade on this luxurious cruise ship.

For total relaxation and some quality “me time”, a trip to the spa for pampering, preening and blissful indulgence with massages and beauty treatments is a must.
