The newly-named Harmony of the Seas is set to feature a series of facilities and amenities debuted on Oasis and Quantum Class ships. Officially a sister ship to the Oasis Class vessels, the Harmony will be larger than her kin and feature updated amenities – including a few debut additions such as Royal Caribbean’s first ever waterslides.

Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, enthused: “We are orchestrating a medley of new exciting concepts with the best Royal Caribbean innovations to strike the perfect chord for adventurous vacationers.”

Richard D. Fain, chairman and CEO, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd, continued: “They shatter preconceived notions of what cruising can be and continue to stand in a category by themselves. With Harmony of the Seas, we are making the most exciting experience at sea even better.”

Harmony of the Seas will continue the Oasis Class tradition of splitting the ship’s public areas into distinct neighbourhoods. Traditionally, the ships have been split into the neighbourhoods: Boardwalk, Central Park, Royal Promenade, Pool and Sports Zone, Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Centre, Entertainment Place, and Youth Zone.

The ship will also blend Royal Caribbean’s new Dynamic Dining feature which debuted on the Quantum of the Seas with a ‘Classic’ dining option which incorporates a more traditional, structured approach to restaurant service.

For the first time on an Oasis Class ship, all the interior cabins of the Harmony of the Seas will feature virtual cabins, giving all passengers uninterrupted views of the ocean. The number of single cabins is also being increased in number.

Harmony is also set to become the most technology-advanced ship in the Oasis Class, incorporating a range of Quantum Class features which made them the world’s first smartships. The robot bartenders of the Bionic Bar will make another appearance alongside the fastest internet connections on the seas. Making the cruising experience more intuitive, the ship will also feature Royal Caribbean’s RFID WOWBands which give passengers entry into their cabins and allow them to make on-board purchases and reservations.

Launching in April 2016, the Harmony of the Seas will have a slightly larger capacity than the older ships in the class. The ship’s itineraries are expected to be released next month.
