One of the most visited tourist regions in the world, Orlando attracts tens of millions of visitors each and every year.
The city is home to some of the biggest and best theme parks in the world, such as Walt Disney World, SeaWorld Orlando and Universal Studios. But it’s not all about the Parks. Orlando is also home to a number of nature reserves, gardens, parks, museums and more traditional attractions.
So, to help you plan your trip, here are our top things to see and do in Orlando.
Explore the Theme Parks
Of course, it goes without saying that no visit to Orlando would be complete without a visit to one of the many world-class theme parks.
You can opt for a traditional Disney experience at the Magic Kingdom, explore the retro-futurism of EPCOT, be wowed by amazing marine life at SeaWorld, or even check out the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios – there’s plenty to choose from and a park to please everyone.
Take a Kayak Eco-Tour
If you fancy taking a break from the theme parks and tourist attractions, we’d recommend getting closer to nature on a Kayak Eco-Tour. Paddle your way through the mossy, cypress lined Shingle-Creek and catch a glimpse of alligators, bald eagles, and much more.
Unless you’re an experienced Kayaker, the best way to get out on the water is by signing up to a two-hour guided tour.
Check out the Orlando Science Centre
With a variety of themed exhibitions covering everything from mechanics and applied technology to biology, the Orlando Science Centre is a fun, inspiring science museum located right next door to the Orlando Museum of Art.
Featuring science-based fun for visitors of all ages, the Science centre is home to two movie theatres and four interactive exhibits.
Hit the Shops
If shopping until you drop is your thing, Orlando certainly won’t disappoint.
Head to the Florida Mall for an abundance of stores and attractions including a huge M&M’s store, or check out The Mall at Millenia to experience one of the most popular shopping destinations in the entire State. Other top shopping spots include Orlando Premium Outlests on Vineland Avenue and Pointe Orlando.
Brave Gatorland
Florida is famous around the world for its alligators. Home to thousands of alligators, crocodiles, and other reptiles, Gatroland is a must-visit if you want to get up close and personal with these intriguing creatures.
With daily shows and demonstrations, observation towers, swamp walks, and the Gator Gully Splash Park. Oh and, if you’re feeling brave, there’s even a zip- line running over the heads of the scaly reptiles.
Be wowed by the Kennedy Space Centre
The Kennedy Space Centre really is out of this world! Full of interactive and informative exhibits, the Space Centre contains everything there is to know about space travel.
The centre is arranged into Mission Zones, with attractions and tours grouped by chronological era. From the dawn of space to current missions, don’t miss this up-close-and-personal story of humans in space.
