Celebrity Cruises has always been renowned as one of the industry’s most stylish lines. Now, company president and CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo is stealing the spotlight with a VIP appearance on Lifetime reality TV show, Project Runway. Alongside fellow celebrity judges Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia, Zac Posen and Tim Gunn, Lutoff-Perlo will give her two cents on what this season’s aspiring fashionistas have to offer. Kicking off on August 6 the show will see sixteen ambitious artistes compete in a series of fashion focussed tasks and challenges in a bid to become the show’s 14th design deity.
Cruising and couture
So what prompted Project Runway to invite a cruise line CEO to its coveted judging panel? As well as having impeccable taste, Lutoff-Perlo has donated a luxury Aqua Class cruise to the Project Runway prize pool. Whoever takes the crown will enjoy the chance to choose a luxury cruise of their choice, sailing to any of Celebrity’s exotic destinations. As an Emmy nominated competition series the partnership represents some serious press coverage for Celebrity Cruises.
Lutoff-Perlo also asserts that the two brands share a passion for innovation and industry firsts, explaining that “Our partnership with Project Runway is the perfect fit – at the core of both of our brands are innovative, big and bold ideas that never have been seen before in our industries.” She adds that “It is incredibly exciting to finally share the news, even more so as the first cruise company to ever collaborate with the popular series. We hope everyone will join us in watching the highly anticipated episode, in which the Project Runway team continues the search for the next big fashion designer.”
So will Celebrity Cruises be welcoming its new fashion forward friends on-board in the future? According to Lutoff-Perlo the answer is yes! “We would love to welcome Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia, Zac Posen and Tim Gunn on-board our ships in the future!” she says. And who knows, perhaps this season could even see the show’s up and coming designers put together a new collection for the Celebrity crew!
