Handsome, muscly and oh so adventurous, Ben Fogle is the darling of British thrills and spills. Now, the UK TV star is giving Celebrity Cruises passengers a chance to embark on their very own Fogle inspired adventures, with a summer itinerary that will see him board two of the line’s European sailings. Planned to coincide with Celebrity’s extension of the Ben Fogle Great Adventure shore excursion programme, the VIP appearance takes the concept of exploratory cruising to new heights.
As Celebrity’s in-house destination expert, Ben has ventured to far flung places across the globe. Not to mention, accompanying a host of famous faces along the way. From winning the 2006 Atlantic Rowing Race with Olympic Gold medallist James Cracknell to convoying with Wills and Harry on their tour of Botswana, he’s charmed the pants of British TV viewers.
Introducing Europe’s adventurous streak
Turns out Celebrity passengers are next on his hit list, with Ben Fogle Great Adventure excursions now available on a huge range of European itineraries. Curated by the adventure deity himself, guests will be able to pack their port calls full of exciting experiences. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s on offer:
- Rafting down Rome’s River Tiber past iconic landmarks such as St. Peter’s Basilica and the Palace of Justice.
- Hiking the city walls of Montenegro’s fortified town of Kotor, with spectacular views over the Boka Bay.
- Cycling through the mountains of Montes de Malaga National Park, followed by Spanish tapas in the evening.
- Flying through the Finnish Archipelago and Kustaanmiekka straight on a speedboat, then cruising past Embassy Park, the Suomenlinna Island Fortress and winding up with a tasting of traditional Scandinavian cuisine.
A walk on the wild side for Celebrity guests
For Ben, the expanded programme is an unreal opportunity to offer Celebrity passengers ‘off-the-beaten-track’ experiences. “Developing the new Great Adventures has been a hugely exciting project,” he said. “I am thrilled to be able to share my passion for taking the road less travelled with Celebrity Cruises’ guests. Each tour has been designed to appeal to those keen to immerse themselves in fascinating cultures, indulge in great food and marvel at breath-taking scenery.”
As well as signing up for Ben’s cherry picked shore excursions, passengers can also catch him on 11-night Celebrity Reflection Greece, Turkey and Italy sailings, departing April 25 and October 10. With free travel seminars, talks and Q&As, it’s a one off chance to hear more about his insatiable appetite for adventure.
