- She Was Christened by Royalty
Charlene, Princess of Monaco, is the ship’s godmother, taking part in the christening ceremony held in Monaco on 13 July 2016. As well as being part of royalty, Princess Charlene is also an Olympic swimmer, representing South Africa at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

The official home of the Regent Seven Seas Explorer is the Marshall Islands, a collection of 1,156 tiny islands near the equator and the international date line.
