All Three Oasis Class Ships to Be Based in Florida in 2016

The Harmony of the Seas will be welcomed into service by her Oasis Class sisters, Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas, with all three ships sailing out of Florida during her debut season. The two older members of the Oasis Class will both be based out of Port Everglades for the summer 2016 season, sailing seven night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries.

The newest member of the Oasis Class will replace Oasis of the Seas in Port Everglades as the latter repositions to another Floridian cruise hub – Port Canaveral. Despite the increasing popularity of new cruise regions – particular in Asia and Australia – the Caribbean remains the world’s premier cruising hotspot, with Florida providing unparalleled access.

Another of Royal Caribbean’s upcoming vessels, Anthem of the Seas, is also due to sail Caribbean itineraries throughout 2016 – based out of Cape Liberty in New Jersey. Other Royal Caribbean ships making sailings to the Caribbean Sea include Grandeur, Enchantment, Navigator, Freedom, Brilliance, Liberty and Adventure of the Seas – giving Caribbean cruise fans a selection which cannot be matched by other cruise lines.

Harmony 2

The Harmony of the Seas is set to be the largest cruise ship in operation upon her launch next year, eclipsing the sisters in her class – currently the tied largest cruise ships. The gigantic vessel will measure a few metres larger than her sister ships in both length and weigh and will have a total capacity of 5,479 guests compared to the 5,400 of the Oasis and the Allure.

The ship will also benefit from a series of new additions not featured on her sister ships, including amenities and facilities borrowed from Royal Caribbean’s Quantum Class – the most technologically advanced ships on the seas. Alongside the fastest cruise ship internet connection, the ship will also feature a Bionic Bar – complete with robotic bar staff – and virtual balconies – allowing passengers in interior cabins to watch the world pass them by.
