Royal Caribbean Gets Slippery with New Water Slides

Love to slip, slide and splash? If so, Royal Caribbean is the line for you! When Liberty of the Seas enters a dry dock scheduled for January 2016 she’ll emerge with a brand new waterslide that will mark a fleet-wide first for Freedom class ships. In April 2016 Majesty of the Seas will also be fitted out with its very own water slide.

The announcements come in the wake of the line’s recent confirmation that Harmony of the Seas will also feature a quartet of water slides. For passengers, the new additions mean the opportunity to slip, twist and glide down the multilevel slides. One even features a Champagne bowl that swirls riders around in bubbly circles as they approach the plunge pool.

The slides have been given suitably thrilling names, with one of the 10 story monoliths pegged the Abyss. The others are collectively nicknamed The Perfect Storm and are called Cyclone, Monsoon and Typhoon.

“We are orchestrating a medley of new exciting concepts with the best Royal Caribbean innovations to strike the perfect chord for adventurous vacationers,” explains Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International.
