Although the Bionic Bar has taken much of the attention, the Two70 Lounge in the rear of the ship is a hugely versatile and technologically-advanced entertainment venue, designed to be enjoyed throughout the day and into the evening. The name derives from the stunning 270 degree view of the seas, offered by the huge panoramic window which wraps around the lounge at the rear of the ship.
Ensuring no space is wasted, regardless of the time of day, Royal Caribbean has strived to improve the amount of space each cruise guest can enjoy. With a capacity of more than 4,000 guests, the logistics and operations managers from Royal Caribbean always have to consider the risks of crowding and the effects this has on passenger enjoyment.
Daytime Relaxation
The Two70 Lounge aboard the Quantum of the Seas has become a popular relaxation space during the day, and it is widely anticipated her sister’s equivalent will do likewise. Offering beautiful, panoramic seascapes in a relaxed setting, many guests are spending days at sea in the lounge with a good book, drinks and friends.
Night Time Entertainment
At night the lounge evolves into a unique entertainment complex which marries live performances with projected images on revolutionary screens controlled and positioned by robotic arms (related to their brethren in the Bionic Bar). During Anthem’s first season on the seas, the lounge will play host to the new performance, Spectra’s Cabaret, described as a multi-dimensional cabaret combining live music with high-tech digital imagery.
The family-friendly show features music from popular culture and is performed nightly. The story follows a portal which opens for only a short period every day as the audience are invited to step through the portal and into the invisible realms.
