In order to promote more long-term cruise planning and to maintain customer loyalty with early-booking guests, Royal Caribbean is working towards getting rid of last-minute cruise deals.
A more consistent approach to pricing has been reached because of a reduction in cabin capacity in 2015 when Royal Caribbean will have more cruise ships based in Asia. This will mean fewer staterooms in the Caribbean, which will hopefully increase the profitability from each sailing.
The hope is that Royal Caribbean will raise their customer satisfaction levels and strengthen their brand, which will lead to fewer passengers depending on the current prices of Royal Caribbean cruises.
In order for this plan to succeed, Royal Caribbean needs industry capacity to remain stable in any region and avoid any souring of the market demand through negative PR.
