For the first time in history, P&O are celebrating a double launch. In preparation for their new Summer 2021 and Winter 2021/2022 programme, we welcomed customers in-store so they could learn more about P&O and cruising in general!
In preparation for the event, we sent fliers to approximately 112,000 customers who had never cruised before. This way, inexperienced cruisers could get a taste of what’s possible and gain a glimpse into the exciting and luxurious world of cruising.
What happened?
In order to provide a more personalised experience (and due to the number of attendees) we decided to split the presentations into time slots over a two day period.
Upon arrival, our guests were greeted with welcome drinks from a choice of prosecco, orange and apple juice and a selection of cakes, nibbles and sandwiches to enjoy.
Our store manager, Vikki then made sure to thank each customer for attending and then proceed to introduce the presenters from P&O Cruises; Debbie Fisher (account manager) and Jack Atherton (our Partnership Executive). Each presenter performed a 45-minute presentation about P&O Cruises and then the floor was open for Q&A. Customers were also able to interact with the Cruise1st staff to make enquires or book a cruise.
What was covered?
The presentations consisted of loads of really insightful and fascinating information about the brand itself and its history. They also discussed:
- what’s included in their cruise prices, and what’s not,
- destinations their ships sail to,
- the different ships – and what makes them different (ie. family-friendly/adult-only),
- the new ship launch in May 2020 – Iona,
- videos and pictures of the new ships and what life will be like on board,
- the new sailings on offer,
- the new ship’s itineraries,
- drinks packages and their costs,
- what’s new and to be expected,
- and the 5 best experiences between all the ships in the fleet!

What now?
Since the event, we have seen P&O Cruises grow in popularity, and every customer who enquired at the event, have now made a booking!
We really enjoyed meeting so many of our wonderful customers and helping them to discover new places, new adventures and plan their next holiday of a lifetime!
