Carnival Cruises have announced their latest contest to promote the cruise line’s new ship, Carnival Magic which launches at the start of May this year. From today, children over the age of 13 (or indeed adults) have the opportunity to build their dream ship, putting their creative skills to excellent use.
The contest invites participants to build a model ship out of everyday items and send in a photograph of it, with the chance to win a free Carnival cruise (I’m guessing that for younger contestants, they’ll be required to bring an adult along!).
Photographs of the model ships will be uploaded onto the Carnival website and the public will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite design. For each entry and each vote that they receive, $1 will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (up to a maximum of $10,000). So not only do you have the chance to win a free cruise, you’re also contributing to a very worthy charity… AND having fun!
The models can be made from any old household items/rubbish that you can get your hands on. You could make it from leftover pieces of wood if you’re good with woodwork, or perhaps carboard boxes and toilet roll tubes? The world is your oyster!
With the chance to win a seven-day caribbean cruise onboard the new Carnival Magic, what possible reason could there be NOT to apply? Submissions can be entered up until April 6th and the lucky cruise winner will be announced on April 26th.
