Royal Caribbean are getting into the groove this Spring and bringing the fantastically entertaining musical, Saturday Night Fever onboard the Liberty of the Seas. The musical has been created by Royal Caribbean productions alongside Robert Stigwood Organisation Ltd. The show will start in April 2011 and is likely to be extremely popular with passengers of all ages. It is based on the hugely popular film of the same name, starring John Travolta and featuring a host of hit feel-good songs from the Bee Gees.
The Saturday Night Fever musical first premiered in London’s West End in 1998 and so far, over 10 million people worldwide have experienced it first hand. In the ships state-of-the-art theatre, 1,320 guests per night will be able to watch and get in the mood to boogie! With classic songs such as “Tragedy” and “Stayin’ Alive”, it is a real feel-good musical which will get everyone singing along.
As well as the addition of this fabulous musical, Liberty of the Seas will be adding various other onboard entertainment options over the coming months, with a big refurbishment scheduled for early 2011. Royal Caribbean will be introducing 3D technology in the main theater and fitting video screens outside on the main pool deck, allowing guests to watch movies under the stars.
The staterooms will also be getting some upgrades, for example there will be iPod docks in every room and an interactive touch-screen system allowing passengers to view information about scheduled programs and restaurants. There will also be another food option, and this is by far the most exciting thing mentioned yet – the Cupcake Cupboard!! This is likely to be one of the most popular places to hang out onboard, selling delicious cupcakes in all different shapes, sizes, colours and flavours. What more could you want from a cruise ship?
