US Picnickers Find the Grass Really is Greener with Celebrity Cruises

Summer is in the air and Celebrity Cruises sure knows how to celebrate! So much so that earlier this month the line surprised hundreds of picnicking Americans with luxury hampers hand delivered by an army of butlers. Across New York City, Chicago and the Bay Area the bow tie clad butlers dished out deluxe picnic baskets to unsuspecting park goers. As well as being stuffed full of gourmet treats a handful of lucky recipients were even surprised with complimentary tickets for a Celebrity cruise of their choice.

The “Grass is Greener” with Celebrity

The tongue in cheek move is part of the line’s fresh new summer season campaign that’s built around a “Grass is Greener” tagline. Put simply, it’s a playful way of letting the world know that when it comes to luxury, personalised service and upscale experiences, Celebrity Cruises is simply unmatched. The entire campaign is accompanied by a #GrassIsGreener hashtag that has quickly created quite the buzz on social media.

President and CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo has a clear vision of where she wants to take the line and the “Grass is Greener” campaign sums it up perfectly. “When we say ‘the grass is greener with Celebrity Cruises,’ we mean that everything someone could want on their vacation is more authentic, more stylish, and more compelling with Celebrity,” she says.

Celebrity takes its campaign literally

As well as offering passengers an unsurpassed at-sea experience the grass is quite literally greener on Celebrity Cruises ships. This is all thanks to the introduction of half acre real grass ‘Lawn Clubs’ to the tops of its Solstice Class ships. Now, passengers can roll out a picnic rug, throw aside their shoes and enjoy the unexpected luxury of perfectly preened turf in the middle of the open ocean. Whether enjoying a leisurely sun kissed picnic or watching a jazz concert under the stars, the rooftop lawn reimagines the conventions of the contemporary cruise experience.

“Real grass growing on our top decks, private and spacious veranda staterooms, our Suite Class, and globally inspired cuisine – these are some of the reasons why the grass is greener with Celebrity. Through this campaign, we want to celebrate everything that makes Celebrity the ultimate modern luxury vacation, and tell that story to affluent travelers, their friends and families who are considering a cruise to any of the world’s seven continents,” explains Lutoff-Perlo.
