Royal Caribbean’s Dynamic Dining Now a Quantum Exclusive

Despite claiming back in April that Dynamic Dining was the ‘future of cruising’, Royal Caribbean have now announced that the controversial dining concept will now be available only on Quantum Class ships.

Dynamic Dining had been announced for the Oasis Class ships, with a planned implementation by the end of 2015 – but this decision has now been reversed. In an update to travel agents, Royal Caribbean explained:

“The revolutionary Dynamic Dining concept was created for Royal Caribbean International’s newest and most technologically advanced Quantum-class ships. It has been decided not to introduce the Dynamic Dining concept to the rest of the fleet, which was not specifically designed to support it, although previously announced for Oasis Class ships.”

Some guests had already booked the Dynamic Dining option on upcoming cruises on Oasis of the Seas, Allure of the Seas and Harmony of the Seas (launching in 2016) – and these reservations will be amended to incorporate the My Time Dining programme. My Time Dining gives guests the opportunity to select their own seating time and table companions in the main dining room or from the extensive range of speciality restaurants.

Royal Caribbean are hoping all Dynamic Dining reservations aboard Oasis Class ships will be amended by the end of July 2015.

Both Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas have gone into dry dock over the past 12 months and been treated to a selection of new features. It was widely thought part of this revamp was to ensure the ships could accommodate Dynamic Dining.

Despite the revelation that Dynamic Dining will not be featured on-board, Royal Caribbean have announced a number of new restaurants for the Oasis Class ships including Sabor Taqueria and Tequila Bar and Boardwalk Doghouse as well as updated versions of Chops Grille and Izumi Hibachi & Sushi.
