Giving potential passengers a new view into cruising aboard one of their liners; Royal Caribbean has launched Google Maps Business View on the Allure of the Seas.
Utilising the search engine giant’s Street View technology, the tool allows browsers an unprecedented insight into life aboard one of their liners. The company are hoping the exciting on-board activities and sophisticated luxuries will encourage first time cruises to take the plunge and book their first holiday on the seas.
Royal Caribbean International director of marketing & PR, Jo Briody, explained: “Consumers go online to research their cruise holidays and this is the closest they can get to actually being on-board.
“We are confident that once people get virtually immersed in Allure of the Seas’ various decks and features thanks to Google Street View technology, they’ll be eager to experience the real thing.”
Potential passengers will also be able to virtually walk around the ships decks, getting a better understanding of the space available on the decks. This will be incredibly useful for holidaymakers who are interested in learning how much walking is required to get from one feature of the ship to another.
The tour starts off on the top deck of the cruise liner but gives viewers the opportunity to explore five restaurants, the ice rink, swimming pools, four ship neighbourhoods as well as four of the ships special features such as the incredible Aquatheatre.
Additionally, three different classes of rooms can be explored, helping holidaymakers make an informed decision as to where they should lay their head after a long day of enjoying the on-board activities or excursions.
Google UK program manager Deborah Schenker enthused: “Business View allows people all over the world to explore a range of businesses and organisations in great detail in just a few clicks. You can check out anything from restaurants to aircraft in Google Maps, and now for the first time you can sail the seas too with the first ever cruise ship coming on board.”
