Norwegian Cruise Line will be continuing to offer quality entertainment on board its ships this next year and none less than that featured on Norwegian Breakaway cruising from New York.
The Tony Award nominated ‘ROCK OF AGES’ will be offered alongside the dance sensation BURN THE FLOOR and the CIRQUE DREAMS & DINNER JUNGLE FANTASY.
Rock of Ages has been declared “Absurdly enjoyable – about as guilty as pleasures get” by the New York Times and has experienced great longevity on Broadway. It has now been transferred onto the silver screen by New Line Cinema and the film was released on15th June.
In addition to this, BURN THE FLOOR, which is benefitting from the current revival of ball room dancing, will highlight the early beginnings and traditions of ballroom dance. This along with the heady mix of new style and energy from the current generation of dancers will transfix and dazzle guests. With everything from the Waltz, Cha-Cha to the Jive and Lindy Hop, the music spans the ages with Swing, J-Lo and Credence Clearwater. The performance is in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Another ship in the Norwegian Line, Norwegian Epic has been running Cirque Dreams and Diner and following its great success, Norwegian Breakaway will be offering Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy, with all the best from these productions. This will feature a cast of Cirque Dreamers from all around the world creating an exotic adventure with Flipping Monkeys, Spine-bending Lizards, Fanciful Birds and a Ballet of Butterflies.
Slam Allen, famous New York jazz musician has been entertaining people around the world for more than 20 years. He will also be performing on Norwegian Breakaway with nightly blues and jazz sets including music from BB King, Otis Redding and the like. The Jazz and Blues club on-board creates an appropriate setting with its leather sofas and chairs and a full traditional bar. He will also be at The Waterfront an outdoor seating area where guests are able to enjoy his music whilst taking in the ocean breeze and a drink with friends.
Norwegian Breakaway will be the biggest ship to have New York as its home port. The 4000 passenger will spend two years taking cruisers from the heart of Manhattan to the Southern Caribbean, Florida or the Bahamas. It is estimated around 140,000 additional people will come to New York over the two years, producing an additional spend of around $35 million directly to the City.
