Quantum of the Seas on Her Maiden Voyage to New York [Video]

Following years of planning, design and construction, the first ship in the Quantum Class has finally taken to the seas – offering a number of world first features for guests.

The launch of the ship represents a landmark occasion for Royal Caribbean and the cruise industry as a whole. The world’s most intelligent and futuristic vessel welcomes a new generation of cruising – welcoming more holidaymakers to the sea than ever before.

This maiden voyage is just the first part of Royal Caribbean’s plan to make the Quantum Class one of the most popular cruise ship classes in operation. The Quantum of the Seas will be joined by her younger sister, Anthem of the Seas early next year.

The rumour mill is working overtime, suggesting that Royal Caribbean are already planning on launching a third and even a fourth member of the Quantum Class of ships – based upon the huge popularity of the Quantum of the Seas, even before she has launched.

Quantum of the Seas will spend her maiden season sailing out of Cape Liberty in New Jersey, before repositioning to China in May 2015. Royal Caribbean are hoping to capitalise on the quickly growing Chinese cruise market.
