Forget gap years for youngsters fresh out of university. Princess Cruises is advocating for mature age revelries with its latest 48-night trip of a lifetime on-board the ultra-luxurious Emerald Princess. Officially marketed as ‘The Four Continents Grand Adventure,’ the itinerary calls at 15 ports as it makes its way from British waters to Australian shores.
While the ink on their degrees may have dried decades ago, Princess Cruises is determined to show their adult passengers one hell of a time. Over almost seven weeks guests will be swept away on a whirlwind journey across the pond. The Four Continents Grand Adventure marks the line’s longest ever cruise departing from the UK and represents the beginning of its new commitment to introducing more Southampton departures to its annual calendar.
On-board, adventurous adults will be able to enjoy all of the ship’s state-of-the-art amenities. From unwinding at the Lotus Spa and relaxing by the Calypso Reef Pool to hitting up the Princess Theatre and testing Lady Luck at Gatsby’s Casino.
The adventure kicks off with calls to several Italian ports before making a beeline for the Suez Canal. Egypt, Jordan and Dubai are all on the cards, with the Emerald Princess then setting her sights on India, Singapore and Thailand. The West Australian port of Fremantle marks her first Australian destination, followed by the stunning Margaret River region. Cosmopolitan passengers will love the chance to soak up Melbourne’s on-trend atmosphere while a final call at Sydney makes for an epic conclusion.
Paul Ludlow, Princess Cruises managing director UK and Europe, maintains that the cruise is the perfect option for adventurers with a taste for the finer things in life. “We really hope that holidaymakers are as excited about our new programme as we are. As well as our usual wide range of options and destinations, the 48-night cruise from Southampton to Sydney is being eagerly anticipated as it is the perfect ‘grown up gap year trip’ for anyone wanting to travel further afield, but without a hostel or backpack in sight,” he says.
