Princess Cruises Debuts ‘Cook My Catch’ Experience

Renowned as one of the world’s most unique luxury cruise programmes, ‘North to Alaska’ has won Princess Cruises a myriad of awards. Now, the line is enriching the experience even further, with a ‘Cook My Catch’ option that allows passengers to enjoy their very own ‘catch of the day’ when cruising Alaska.

Exclusive to Princess Cruises, the programme offers guests an exclusive culinary experience that gives them the chance to enjoy freshly caught Alaskan salmon and cod, straight from their very own lines. It’s all part of the company’s dedication to giving guests authentic, one in a lifetime experiences.

As well as itineraries calling at Juneau and Ketchikan, Cook My Catch will also be available as part of the line’s Princess Land & Sea Vacations packages. The immersive nature adventures feature overnight stays at Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge and Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge.

A real taste of Alaska

To enjoy freshly caught fish served straight to the table, passengers are invited to sign up for select Princess shore excursions including the Salmon Sport Fishing Expedition, Salmon Sport Fishing Adventure in Juneau, Hunting for Halibut and the Discovery Exclusive Alaska Fishing & Wilderness Dining excursion in Ketchikan. After returning from their excursion passengers will be able to choose their cooking method, as well as preferred side dishes. The culinary team will then get to work creating ultra-fresh meals, on demand!

Whether you want your salmon seared, poached, grilled, crispy skinned or even raw, the Princess Cruises culinary team is on hand to create customised dishes, any way you like.

It’s just one of the ways Princess is enhancing its North to Alaska programme in 2016, with a myriad of culinary, educational and entertainment experiences also being introduced this year. For passengers, it’s a chance to get a genuine taste of the real Alaska, and delve head first into the wild frontier.

“The newest North to Alaska offerings, including Cook My Catch, truly demonstrates our commitment to provide our guests authentic local experiences in the destinations we visit,” said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises’ president. “Alaska offers so many opportunities to create lifetime memories ultimately ensuring our guests ‘come back new’.”

A new perspective on the ‘last frontier’

So what else is on offer? Other unique experiences debuting in 2016 include Meet the Mountain Climber, described by the line as an interactive presentation from Denali conquerors. Puppies in the Piazza is a great chance to get up close and personal with Skagway’s newest sled dogs, with photo opportunities and cuddles galore.
