Koningsdam – Holland America Line

With a passenger capacity of 2650, Koningsdam is a mid-sized ship that represents a new era for Holland America Line’s Pinnacle class cruising experience. On-board passengers will enjoy a harmonious blend of classic elegance and 21st century innovation – think airy light filled spaces, fluid curves, luxurious interiors and a sophisticated interplay of cutting edge technology and refined elegance.

Bjørn Storbraaten, architect and designer says, “It’s been fascinating to work on ms Koningsdam where we are introducing design elements never before seen on Holland America Line,” said Storbraaten. “We were tasked with evolving the look and feel of the ship while keeping it true to the brand, making this an exciting and rewarding project.”

The Culinary Arts Center presented by Food & Wine magazine is one of the most exciting new additions, housing a signature show kitchen designed to host demonstrations and hands-on cooking classes. Here in-house chefs will prepare artisan dishes inspired by the organic farm-to-table movement. An elegant Dutch café, seafood brasserie, Lido market and series of other specialty restaurants add to the unique culinary experience. She’s scheduled to make her maiden voyage on April 8 and will be the line’s first new addition since 2010.
