Oasis Upgrades for more of the Royal Caribbean Fleet

Royal Caribbean have announched that they plan on spending a massive $300 million over the next few years upgrading their entire fleet of cruise ships to “Oasis class”. Royal Caribbean is one of the biggest cruise lines in the world, so this is quite a challenge they are taking on. However, the Oasis Class ships have went down so well, clearly they feel it is worth rolling that success out further.

The Radiance of the Seas kicked off the upgrade program in May, and the Splendour of the Seas is due to get it’s spruce up in November this year. Next year, several moe ships will dry dock for a month to get their upgrades finalised too.

So what is Oasis class? Well, as well as a general refurb and a splash of paint here and there, the ships in the fleet will get:

– More dining options, both free (or inclusive) and for-fee options
– Family-friendly additions – Family cabins will be added, as well as the Royal Babies/Tots nursery
– Ship wide Wi-fi
– In cabin docking stations
– Flat screen televisions in staterooms

With these modern features, it is no surprise that there is a buzz around this upgrade program announced by Royal Caribbean Cruises. It may take them a while to get there, but I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks it will be well and truly worth it at the end.
