Norwegian Cruise Line has, this week, floated out their newest and largest member of the fleet. The Norwegian Escape left the Mayer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany for the first time ever as onlookers caught glimpses of the 4,200-capacity vessel.
The ship is preparing to undertake her maiden season, sailing Eastern Caribbean itineraries out of Miami, starting on 14 November. The Norwegian Escape is set to become the first ship in NCL’s brand new Breakaway Plus Class of ships – with another three (including the Norwegian Bliss) set to launch between now and 2019.
Norwegian Cruise Line is planning celebratory events in Europe in late October, and Miami in early November. However, not all the ship’s features and amenities have been added yet – with the top-deck rope course set to be added before its 16 September conveyance.
Set to become the flagship of the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet, the Norwegian Escape will feature a range of new shows including Million Dollar Quartet which recollects the legendary, impromptu jam session between Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins.
Brand new features and venues within the Norwegian Escape include the Skyline Bar. Located within the Escape Casino, the bar will be decadently finished with gold and metallic flourishes and include sensory LED screens and video poker.
Additionally, the world-famous Miami bar, Tobacco Road, is relocating to the ship and taking to the seas for the very first time. Located within 678 Ocean Place, Tobacco Road will feature original memorabilia from the 100 year old bar.
Delivery of the Norwegian Escape is planned for 22 October. At Cruise1st, we offer a huge range of exclusive deals aboard the brand new Norwegian Escape and all the ships in the NCL fleet.
