Natasha Bedingfield will be Featured Singer at Royal Princess Naming Ceremony

On June 13th in Southampton, Popular songstress Natasha Bedingfield will perform at the naming ceremony for the new Royal Princess ship.

Natasha will join HRH Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge at the ceremony;  Catherine will be officially naming the ship after being announced as the vessel’s official godmother earlier this year.

The ceremony will feature many British ship-naming traditions, including a blessing of the vessel, a performance by The Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines Portsmouth (Royal Band) and the pipers of the Irish Guards.  The pinnacle of the ceremony will be when The Duchess of Cambridge breaks a champagne bottle on the bow of the ship.

The ceremony itself will form part of a weeklong programme of celebrations.  Royal Princess will arrive at the Ocean Terminal in Southampton on Friday June 7th.  She’ll depart on her maiden voyage on June 16th.  The ship’s inaugural sailing to Barcelona will be followed by Grand Mediterranean Cruises throughout the Northern Hemisphere summer, followed by Eastern Caribbean cruises during the autumn and winter months.  For those wanting to travel on the fabulous new Royal Princess ship, a limited number of spaces still remain and are available for booking.

About Royal Princess:

Royal Princess is Princess Cruises’ most recent ship, she has the capacity to hold 3,600 passengers.

Onboard, guests can expect a number of new and innovative features.  Firstly, there will be the company’s new greatly expanded atrium, which Princess are referring to as the “social hub of the ship.”  Passengers will also enjoy the thrilling over-water “SeaWalk”, which is a top-deck glass-bottomed walkway extending 8.5 meters beyond the edge of the ship.  The plush new poolside cabanas are sure to impress those seeking a bit of rest and relaxation; the cabanas appear to be floating on water!  For those who love a bite of something tasty, the Royal Princess ship will offer the largest pastry shop at sea!  Plus, all outside staterooms will have balconies!  And there’s much more too…
