MSC Cruises confirms they will return to the United Arab Emirates

Last week, MSC Cruises confirmed their ship MSC Lirica will return to the UAE for the winter season 2013/2014.

The ship will take travellers on a journey of discovery through the middle east where holidaymakers will experience a wealth of rich traditions, culture and vibrant modernity, not to mention a host of dramatic landscapes throughout the region.

On the 5th of November 2013, MSC Lirica will set off on a 18-night voyage from Genoa in Italy, before arriving in Dubai in the UAE on 22nd November.  The ship will also make stops in Malta, Greece, Egypt and Oman ensuring this is a diverse and exciting tour of a range of different yet equally fabulous locations.

Then, from mid-November until late March 2014, MSC Lirica will sail 18 seven-night cruises from Dubai, calling at ports in the United Arab Emirates and Oman with an overnight stay in Dubai.  This gives travellers the chance to enjoy the unique nightlife of Dubai, often compared to a glittering oasis in the desert.

Speaking about their fabulous cruise offerings, MSC Cruises CEO Pierfranceso Vago said:

“MSC Cruises’ return to the Emirates reaffirms our strong belief in the region’s potential as an innovative and highly desirable destination for cruise travellers.  As part of a broad commitment to encouraging future growth, the UAE government’s recent decision to allow multiple entry visas for cruise ship passengers has dramatically simplified visa procedures, making the region even more attractive to cruise lines and ensuring that many more travellers can discover this truly unique destination with ease.”

MSC Cruises believe their Emirates adventure tours reveal the magic and mystery of an enigmatic world full of spectacular contrasts.  Unspoiled beaches, rugged mountain views, mystical landmarks and crystalline fjords are just some of the amazing experiences guests will be sure to enjoy.

Here are some of our favourite highlights:

  • Khor Al Fakkan  – The perfect getaway.  Explore desert dunes, typical wadis and spectacular oases.  Enjoy the rugged Masafi and Hajar Mountains, or soak up the sun on stunning beaches.
  • Jebel Maleihah – Also known as Fossil Rock, here you can explore amazing fossils dating back 80 million years.
  • Muscat – Take a look at mystical and breathtaking landmarks, including the Al Alam Palace and the Al Jalali and Al Mirani forts.
  • Khasab – This spectacular place is known as “the Norway of Arabia.”  It has a sinuous coastline, fjord-like waters, pretty fishing villages and limestone cliffs.  A great place for dolphin watching too!
  • Dubai – We cannot forget to mention the ultra modern city of Dubai.  An eclectic mix of natural and man-made wonders.  For glitz and glamour, check out Burj Al Arab Hotel, the only 7-star hotel in the world.
