MSC Bellissima, the sister ship of MSC Meraviglia is now officially at sea and we were lucky enough to be there at the official launch in Southampton to provide you with an exclusive blog post with the most exciting parts of our visit.
This brand-new ship has the capacity to hold 5,686 guests and is the biggest ship ever to be named in Southampton. On the 2nd of March, this ship was officially christened by famous Italian actress and singer, Sophia Loren and hosted by “This Morning” presenter Holly Willoughby, followed by a spectacular performance by Andrea and Matteo Bocelli and a Cirque du Soleil at Sea show.
MSC Bellissima offers innovative technology such as the first digital cruise assistant named Zoe with the ability to answer guests’ questions, provide information about onboard services and more. Guests can also use “MSC for Me” – an app that helps guests connect to their friends and family and interact with cabin TV and the numerous interactive touchscreens found onboard.
MSC Bellissima has 12 restaurants and 20 bars to choose from including speciality restaurants such as L’Atelier Bistrot, Butcher’s Cut to name just a few. Whether you are in the mood for a chill lounge or a busy bar – this ship truly has it all.

The guests on MSC Bellissima can experience two exclusive shows by Cirque du Soleil in the Carousel Lounge. The Cirque du Soleil at Sea shows were created exclusively for MSC Cruises starting from March 2019
Jean-Philippe Maury brings his award-winning talents to the Chocolate Bar where sweet masterpieces will be created right in front of you. And if you are not a chocolate fan you can always find his ice cream parlour and creperie right in the Galleria Bellissima.
The Aurea Spa is a tranquil hub of relaxation which provides the guests with a variety of activities such as classic treatments, salon services and beauty treatments. You can choose from up to 20 types of massages, couples’ rituals, 19 body treatments and 19 facial treatments, therefore there are plenty of choices when choosing your preferred relaxation method. A distinct characteristic of the new MSC Bellissima Aurea Spa is the interior as it is inspired by the Balinese décor and as soon as you enter you are greeted with calming sounds of waterfalls and an exotic interior of natural stones and wood.

This 96-metre promenade offers an incredible view of the 80-metre LED dome which changes every few minutes, displaying a breath-taking sight every time. The Galleria is lined with a variety of shops, bars and restaurants providing a modern atmosphere. In the evening the promenade comes alive with live music & entertainment.
Authentic Asian cuisine prepared in front of you in this stylish restaurant. Just outside you can find the Sushi Bar just outside the promenade overlooking the beautiful views.
MSC Bellissima’s Atmosphere pool offers plenty of poolside space with a giant screen and if you wish, you can hop over to the horizon pool for an open-air deck space which is transformed during the night to the perfect spot for entertainment.
