Last week, the notorious Queen of Pop Mariah Carey turned fairy godmother as she christened Fantasy, the fourth vessel in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. The evening saw a star-studded celebration, packed with performances from Jerry Seinfield, Nick Cannon and Heather Headley.
Mariah took to center stage as she christened the ship by breaking a bottle of champagne against the hull, as tradition dictates. She then promised to bring her two twins, Moroccan and Monroe, back to the Fantasy ship for some Disney fun in the not-to-distant future.
The superstar singer had a hit with a song of the same name as the ship back in 1995.
Disney’s Fantasy cruise ship will set sail at the end of this month, when revelers can enjoy an abundance of innovative highlights, exclusive to the Disney fleet.
“Animation Magic”: a spectacular event where guests draw characters and watch them come alive on screen as they wait for their food in the dining room!
The Muppets: join them on an interactive adventure quest around the ship! Scour the ship for missing show props as you uncover clues in the adventure. Plus, you can play multiple times, as the game features randomised events and several possible endings. Absolutely perfect for Muppet fans!
Experiment in the AqauLab: Donald Duck’s nephews have set up a water play area full of ‘experiments’. The pop jets, geysers and bubblers are designed to soak guests, so don’t forget to pack your swimsuit!
Adults can relax in Satellite Falls: An 18+ splash pool with benches, a gently falling rain curtain and sun loungers.
Broadway-style shows: enjoy specular performances such as Aladdin in the lavish Walk Disney Theatre.
“Europa”: a district of Europe-themed pubs, clubs and lounges for the adults on board. Enjoy everything from a French-inspired champagne bar to rollickingly good Irish pub.
Castaway Cay: the Fantasy cruise will include a stop at Disney’s private island, a paradise of turquoise waters, white beaches and swaying palm trees.
