Love art? Princess Cruises to showcase top contemporary artists on new ‘Art Connoisseur Cruises’

If you love art then you’ll be pleased to hear that Princess Cruises have devised a new “Art Connoisseur” package just for you!  The company are showcasing some of today’s top contemporary artists and hosting lectures on their new range of cruises.

The new cruise package is aimed at art fanatics who are avid collectors, and newcomers to the world who would like to learn a little more.

There will be some big names joining the cruises, as a wide range of internationally acclaimed artists have been invited by Princess.  Famous artists include bas relief sculptor Bill Mack, Russian American contemporary artist Viktor Shvaiko and colorful French American painter Duaiv.  Crowds of art lovers can also expect to be wowed by an exciting session of live painting to music by Eric Waugh.

That’s not all –  “rock star of the art world” Michael Godard will be joining the programme, as well as painter Alexandre Renoir who is the great grandson of the famed French impressionist Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and Christine Argillet, who is the daughter of Salvador Dali’s publisher.  She will offer her personal stories and insight into of one of the 20th century’s most unique artists.

The Art Connoisseur Cruies are part of Princess’ Fine Arts program, which offers passengers the opportunity to experince and learn more about artwork produced through the past century.  Each ship will also feature works from collectable artists – plus exciting art auctions will be held during each cruise!

Speaking in her capacity as Executive Vice President for Princess Cruises, Jan Swartz explained that. “These connoisseur cruises give art lovers the opportunity to learn more about the works and artists they admire, or discover new artists, plus, it’s something our passengers might not be able to experience at home, so it’s an interesting enrichment option during their vacation.”

July 17

October 26

Emerald Princess — 12-day Canada & New England
Alexandre Renoir, Viktor Shvaiko, Eric Waugh, Michael Schwartz (art lecturer/historian on Picasso, Rembrandt, and Renoir)

Many of these artists also sail individually on select artist voyages throughout the year.
