Today’s post is for those who would love to learn more about Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas – the Oasis Class super-liner that took its maiden voyage back in 2009.
We’ll start off by giving you those necessary vital statistics, then provide information about her facilities and finish with a round-up of her upcoming (and exciting) European cruise offerings.
Oasis of the Seas is pitched as one of the “most innovative ships at sea”, according to Royal Caribbean. The company certainly didn’t skimp on details when designing and building this magnificent vessel: there are 7 different neighbourhood zones onboard, each jam-packed full of activities and experiences designed to thrill. From the exhilarating zip-wire to the AquaTheater full of acrobatic water shows – there’s plenty to enjoy onboard this ship.
Here’s a selection of what else you can expect onboard:
Let’s not forget the airy, comforting and relaxing rooms onboard Oasis too. Whatever your budget, RCI has it covered. Book into a luxury two-story suite with private balcony or check into one of the cozy compact rooms – plus, there’s everything in-between too. Want to make the most of that sea view? A range of rooms feature private outside balconies.
While Oasis of the Seas is largely known for her exciting Caribbean Cruise routes, the ship will be making a one-off visit to Southampton in the UK after visiting Barcelona, Spain for several rare voyages around Europe in 2014, after being dry-docked in The Netherlands for maintenance:
“Oasis is to go to Rotterdam’s dry docks as part of her five-year life cycle maintenance programme and that has given us the opportunity to showcase her in European waters. We’re delighted we can do this, but there are no plans as yet for any other visits.”
— Jo Rzymowska, the associate vice president and general manager of RCI UK and Ireland
These rare sailings are currently taking the cruise world by storm, with cruise fanatics rushing to book up rooms.
After a few short cruises from Barcelona, Oasis of the Seas will sail to Southampton before embarking on a voyage to Florida, USA. It’s likely she’ll take a number of British passengers amongst the 6,000+ she can accommodate.
