O, The Oprah Magazine has teamed up with Holland America Line to create an amazing new cruise that embodies the spirit of the magazine, and Oprah will be on the inaugural sailing. The partnership includes programming for 300 Holland America Line cruises that have been developed in collaboration with the magazine. Cruises will take place this year and next in North America and the Caribbean.
Four of the cruises will feature appearances by members of the SuperSoul 100, a group of entrepreneurs, authors, artists, and other celebrities who Oprah finds inspiring. The first Alaskan cruise, which will be made on Holland America Line’s Eurodam ship, will feature appearances by Oprah herself for part of the trip, as well as Gayle King, O magazine’s editor. Other important figures at the magazine will also be on board, such as editor-in-chief, Lucy Kaylin, and creative director Adam Glassman. Oprah said of the trip: “I’m so excited to continue 2017 as my Year of Adventure with another bold, new place I’ve never been before: Alaska!”
Activities on board the ship have been designed to bring O magazine to life, with activities, classes and discussions led by the amazing team behind the magazine. Passengers will have the chance to peep behind the scenes with a talk from O magazine editors Gayle King and Lucy Kaylin about how the magazine makes the journey from ideas to the newsstand each month. The O’s Onboard Book Club will allow people to connect with other cruise goers who love the magazine, read engaging new books recommended by the team, and share insights. Emmy Award-winning creative director, Adam Glassman, will be on hand to give in-person style advice, with a special presentation about everything from packing to essential travel pieces every woman needs.
O magazine’s focus on health, wellbeing, and helping you live your best life will be evident throughout the ship. Passengers will be able to greet the morning with meaningful meditations and daily classes in a variety of wellness exercises. These will include tai chi and other meditation-based exercises that soothe the mind and body. Healthier dining options that have been specially crafted for the cruise will also be available in all restaurants.
