The final touches, flourishes and features are currently being added to the Anthem of the Seas in preparation of the big launch in less than three weeks. Amongst the new, unique features are a massive giraffe in colourful swimwear and a rubber ring and an ‘Escape Room’ from Puzzle Break.
Gigi the giraffe will take the place of the 30-foot magenta polar bear which strikingly features on the top deck of sister ship, Quantum of the Seas. Wearing a swimsuit in the colours of the Brazilian national football team and a pink rubber ring around its waist, the giraffe make an eye-catching and unique addition to the ship.
A photo of the giraffe was shared via Twitter by a user who had spotted the large animal being lifted onto the ship by a crane. It is just one of the hundreds of pieces of art which will feature aboard the Anthem of the Seas – borrowed from Royal Caribbean’s impressive art collections made up of a series of painting, murals, sculptures and statues.
Another feature set to debut on the Anthem of the Seas is Escape from the Future – an Escape Room from US company Puzzle Break. The fun room challenges passengers to try and break their way out using logic and intuition. The room will be free for all passengers aboard the shop as they have to solve brainteasers and riddles with team members to escape the room. Lasting an hour, the room is designed to challenge passengers of all ages.
With just a few weeks until the ship’s maiden voyage from Southampton, these final flourishes are helping distinguish the ship from sister ship, Quantum of the Seas.
