To celebrate the upcoming launch of the most technologically-advanced ship in the world (tied with her sister ship), the Anthem of the Seas – The Gadget Show host, Jason Bradbury, visited Cruise1st TV.
Having holidayed on the Quantum of the Seas during her first month on the seas, Bradbury has again been invited to cast his tech-savvy eye over the launch of the Anthem later this month.
Bradbury described his experiences on the Quantum Class ship with host Derek Marks, enthusing about the ship’s features which appealed to his love of gadgets and also appealed to his children.
New to the world to cruising, Bradbury’s sojourn on the Quantum of the Seas was his first ever cruise holiday and believes that he may have been spoiled by the ship. He explained: “I think Royal Caribbean have raised the bar. They ruined my expectations, I now expect bionic bartenders and roller discos with floating DJs above you.”
The Gadget Show presenter went on to explain the trip served to dispel outdated preconceptions about cruise holidays that he had previously held, comparing the ship’s décor to that of a five star hotel.
His highlight of the ship was RipCord by iFly, the first ever skydiving experience on the seas. Enthusing about the accessibility of the skydive simulator, Bradbury explained that it was suitable for his young daughter as well as an elderly friend of the family.
Another highlight of the ship for tech-freak Bradbury was, unsurprisingly, the Bionic Bar with its robotic bartenders and automated service.
“The Bionic Bar is beautiful, it’s like something from Soho or New York.”
It wasn’t all drinking and dropping from the sky for the Bradbury party, as Jason explained how the younger members of the family enjoyed the youth clubs and the range of activities provided in the SeaPlex. He was so satisfied with the facilities for the kids, he managed to make significant use of the adults-only Solarium with his wife.
Bradbury was keen to stress the fact that the ship was not only designed for people as obsessed with technology as he, detailing the aesthetic appeal of the Quantum:
“It’s not an overtly techno ship. It’s a beautiful relaxing experience that technology advances.”
Staying in a family stateroom, Bradbury described his living quarters as ‘fantastic’ and ‘spacious’, and stated his favourite place to eat on the ship was Jamie’s Italian – although he described that as a boring choice.
Jason and his family have been invited to test out the Anthem of the Seas upon its launch later this month alongside the Cruise1st team. The Jason Bradbury episode is set to premiere on Cruise1st TV at 1pm Friday 3 April, although you can watch it before on the Cruise1st YouTube channel.
