Enjoy the royal romance with Princess Cruises

No need to rearrange your cruising schedule this Easter if you’re a fan of the royals, as Princess Cruises will be broadcasting the highly anticipated nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton live on 29th April. Passengers wishing to celebrate with the couple will be able to follow along with the ceremony courtesy of BBC World, so no-one will miss out on what is sure to be the wedding of the century. BBC is the official broadcaster of this event and has exclusive access to the spectacular Westminster Abbey.

Viewing parties will be held on board so passengers can enjoy the event in style, sipping special ‘royal-themed’ cocktails and partaking in some British-style refreshments. Not only that, but any Kate and William doppelgangers can enter an onboard lookalike contest, and with royal wedding trivia competitions throughout it is shaping up to be a fun-filled event not to be missed. The ceremony will be screened on giant LED screens more than 300 square feet in size, that can be seen clearly in midday light and heard even while the ship is at full speed, giving a movie-like experience to all regardless of the time of day. This being said, due to time zone considerations some screenings may be delayed for convenience.

Princess Cruises’ relationship with the royals goes back to the cruise line’s early days, as the original Royal Princess was christened by William’s mother, Princess Diana, back in 1984. Due to this, and the countrywide excitement brewing in anticipation of the wedding, the cruise line expects a great deal of interest from passengers in the occasion.

Other special events broadcast onboard Princess Cruises’ ships include the Super Bowl and the Academy Awards.
