Cunard Unveils Distinguished Commodore Club Cocktail Menu

As one of the oldest and most distinguished cruise lines on the planet, Cunard has always been synonymous with extravagance. Now, passengers can quite literally taste its long history of luxury leisure cruising, with a brand new cocktail menu set to debut at Queen Mary 2’s iconic Commodore Club.

Inspired by the stories of the of the Knighted Cunard Commodores, each signature concoction takes drinkers on a tantalising journey of taste, and history. Developed by in-house Cunard mixologists, the fresh new additions feature premium quality ingredients, expert craftsmanship and a dash of Commodore personality with every sip.

Richard Meadows, President of Cunard North America comments, “Cunard has continued to receive recognition as a leader in world exploration within its more than 176-year history. We are proud to recognise seven of the most decorated Cunard Commodores in Queen Mary 2’s iconic Commodore Club, who have led the Cunard fleets and flagships throughout the company’s illustrious past.”

Sipping on history

So what’s on the menu? Guests to the Commodore Club can expect to see seven newly designed cocktails, including the elaborately named ‘Punch Romain à la Carpathia.’ This is thought to be the last drink poured on-board the Titanic, and draws inspiration from Commodore Sir Arthur Rostron, captain of RMS Carpathia, and leader of the late night Titanic rescue.

Notorious for his grand approach to social events, ‘Over the Top’ is named after Commodore Sir James Charles. As captain of the Aquitania, he threw wild parties and was always up for a good time. Needless to say, the aromatic aromas of his ‘OTT’ cocktail would’ve been a hands down hit with his guests.

“Inspired by character and history, each cocktail has been thoughtfully created to honour their remarkable stories,” adds Meadows.

A captain’s experience, for every guest

Overlooking the bow of Queen Mary 2, the Commodore Club boasts incredible panoramic views over the horizon, and a distinctly majestic atmosphere. Think polished wood, plush textiles, and impeccable service from the in-house team of expert mixologists. Not a fan of cocktails? With an impressive line-up of top shelf whiskeys, gins, vodkas and rums, there are superior options for every guest.

What better way to celebrate its rich maritime past than by creating a bespoke cocktail list inspired by its most illustrious Commodores?
