Set to launch this autumn, passengers travelling with Cunard Line will be afforded a totally new way to broaden their cruise options. The line has announced the ability for Cunard guests to create custom cruise and tour packages when sailing onboard Queen Mary 2 or Queen Victoria. With the chance to stay in four cities from across the globe, Cunard is offering new pre-and-post tour packages of three to four days offered in Rome, Hong Kong, Dubai and Cape Town.
In a news release from the line, Josh Leibowitz, senior vice president of Cunard North America, stated: “For over 178 years, guests have sailed with Cunard to discover different cultures and explore the world. This year we’re excited to offer our guests an opportunity to extend their visits in some of our most iconic ports of call.”
The approach differs from the usual methods that guests may be used to. Instead of the traditional pre-and-post cruise tours that are added to cruises at an additional cost, the line is offering these new packages together with select voyages for just a single fare. This amount includes the tour and all accommodations, as well as the cruise itself.
Elsewhere, Discover Hong Kong lets passengers do just that; see this vibrant Chinese destination in all its effervescent splendour. Over three nights, guests will stay at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kowloon City, where they can take in incredible views of the skyline and harbour. Experience the local flavour of Hong Kong with a sampan boat ride, see the city from up high with a view from the Peak Tram, and head to Stanley Village for a relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Throw in a sample of dim sum and you’ve got a top-notch Hong Kong holiday waiting for you.
Dubai and the Omani Peninsula offers a luxurious, opulent experience that includes a stay at the Mercure Al Barsha Heights Hotel, an elegant 4-star hotel situated by superb transport links. As part of the itinerary, guests will take in the picturesque vistas as part of a panoramic drive, visit the Dubai Mall, the Burj Khalifa tower and cruise to the Omani border where a chance to snorkel in its bright blue waters is sure to be a highlight.
Cunard’s final itinerary as part of their new offering is Wild Cape Town, a three-day excursion where guests will shore up at the Southern Sun Waterfront Hotel, right next to the iconic Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. During their stay, guests will travel to the scenic Cape Peninsula, sample the region’s viticulture at the Constantia Valley wine region, and meet an African penguin colony at Boulders Beach.
