With Prince William and Kate Middleton announcing their engagement last week, and this week confirming their wedding plans, Cunard have spoken out about their plans to broadcast the marriage accross all of their ships.
With Cunard’s ships all being named after royalty, there is a long standing relationship between this cruise line and our Royal family, something which Cunard Cruises are extremely proud of. They will ensure that guests onboard the Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth won’t miss a single second of the wedding on April 29th next year.
The wedding will be shown in the ships’ West End style theatres which accomodate hundreds of passengers, and no doubt there will be bunting up and flags to wave as the ceremony takes place.
Downing Street has already announced that there will be a public holiday on the day of the wedding, something which all of those NOT on a luxury cruise ship at the time will be very happy about!
Those who are on the ships can look forward to a special celebration meal to commemorate the event as well as a champagne toast to the happy couple. All in all, there will be a celebratory feeling on the cruise ship throughout the day as passengers get to experience the momentous day.
When the wedding takes place, Queen Mary 2 will be sailing across the Atlantic, Queen Victoria will be in the middle of the med, and Queen Elizabeth will be heading home towards the docks – how fitting!
